The Smart Energy Policy and Networks Laboratory of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly was established by the 1203/B/23-6-2015 Government Gazette to cover mainly teaching and research activities of the students and staff of the Department in subjects related to intelligent energy networks, energy economics strategy.
The mission of the Smart Energy Policy and Networks Laboratory is:
- to provide the appropriate academic environment to meet the teaching and research needs at undergraduate and graduate level of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the design and development of methodologies in the field of energy.
- the cooperation and exchange of scientific knowledge with other Academic or Research Institutions in Greece or abroad in the framework of academic or research programmes.
- the organization of seminars, conferences, workshops and lectures, as well as publications.
- the cooperation with other Research Laboratories of Public Institutions, Organizations, Institutes, Enterprises, Municipalities, communities and other social and scientific bodies and public benefit institutions in order to contribute to the improvement of the quality of products or services and productivity.
- The provision of services in accordance with the provisions of Law 159/1984 (A' 53);
- The creation of a library of software and related computing tools on intelligent energy strategies, energy economy and networks
